I started The Kindred Traveler in the fall of 2017 as a way to explore our connections through art, culture, and travel. I’ve been blessed and grateful for having the opportunities to travel to Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Ireland, Cambodia, and a number of other amazing destinations.
For the last several months I’ve been working on a new business venture. I haven’t traveled much nor created new content for my blog at The Kindred Traveler. I’m still passionate and will write about art and culture as a way that connects us all. I’ve become interested in social enterprises particularly those in the travel and hospitality sector. I have visited a Tea Shop that trains and employs the deaf in Vietnam. I’ve met with an organization that employs local artisans to create beautiful pieces of art to raise money to save our elephants. I have visited culinary training restaurants for disadvantaged women from ethnic minority communities. These are important stories and businesses to support whether we are traveling or home in our own communities.
In the next few weeks, I will be revamping The Kindred Traveler into lifestyle and travel website focused more on immersive cultural experiences, exciting and responsible travel, and a sustainable lifestyle. Whether we’re at home or exploring other cultures and destinations, we all can create postive impacts improving our communities while protecting our environment at the same time. I look foward to still writing about immersive culture but also start featuring impactful, compelling stories and ideas over the course of the next few weeks when I relaunch soon. And as always THANK YOU for being a reader, follower, supporter of The Kindred Traveler.
